Bulat Utemuratov’s Foundation Shares Its Socially Important Projects

In the beginning of June, representatives of the Asyl Miras Foundation held media conference to introduce five socially significant projects and programs of the foundation to journalists and bloggers. The participants also got the opportunity to meet with the foundation’s board of trustees and executive staff, as well as to learn how the projects are designed to change the quality of life in Kazakhstan. The list of speakers included Marat Aitmagambetov (director of the foundation), Nargiz Shukenova (president of Batyrkhan Shukenov’s Foundation), Baurzhan Shukenov (brother of Batyrkhan Shukenov), Aruzhan Sain (public figure, the head of Mercy Volunteer Society), Asiya Akhtanova (the Association of Parents of Disabled Children "ARDI") and Elena Kim (general director of the Kazakhstan Red Crescent).

Asyl Miras is a charitable foundation established by well-known businessman, politician and philanthropist Bulat Utemuratov. According to Marat Aitmagambetov, the foundation is a multi-project fund working in many fields like autistic spectrum disorders, music, healthcare, culture and much more. "And despite their obvious dissimilarity, they are all connected through one mission – to help Kazakhstan become a better place for people to live today and in the future. We have already achieved much, we have done a lot and, I am sure, we have much to come. " – he said.

As stated, the total amount of grants awarded by Bulat Utemuratov’s Foundation for 2018 is 499 million tenge. These funds are distributed among several projects, including assistance to children with special needs, equipment for orphanages, children’s medical institutions, perinatal and rehabilitation centers, scholarships for talented students, cash aid for flood victims and support of a number of cultural events. For example, under the project "Autism. The World of Opportunities", six specialized centers "Asyl Miras" work in Almaty, Astana, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kyzylorda, Aktobe and Oral. Besides, this summer the foundation transferred 81 690 000 tenge to 813 families, which suffered from floods in East-Kazakhstan region, to help the people survive the most difficult days of the crisis. Also, this year the foundation has started its cooperation with Batyrkhan Shukenov’s fund, planning to fully finance four projects in the memory of the famous Kazakhstan’s singer.
